Have him pick the barrel up at load to create the 45 degree angle to the hitting area. It is too flat and he will have trouble adjusting to low pitches.

I have already been informed on tipping the bat in a pm.
I can definately see the benefit of it.
He would be in good hands with anyone. He can learn faster than I can teach it seems.
My daughter is the one I am having a hard time communicating with.(more ways than one)
She is so literall about every move that everything gets very blocky.I can't seem to get her to let loose and just crush the darn ball.
I might have made a connection with her but time will tell. She is also a black belt and I started communicating hitting the ball like she breaks boards and it seemed to register.

Quincy,we have tried it,that is why she has gotten wide. The only video I have of her is older so the one you most likely saw was old.
We are experimenting with step now.
The reason we don't have video is because I just started videoing them this summer and she was hit by an inside pitch and had her arm broken this summer.Definately slowed her progress.Plus, she has been splitting time between hitting and slapping due to her tremendous speed.

I think when he gets the bat more upright, like you say, his balance problems may take care of itself. I think at the moment much of his power is going to the lefty batters' box.
