'08's:
Nick Caddick, Calvert Hall
Scott Silverstein, St. John's
Ryan Kemp, Mt. St. Joe's
Sander Beck, Severn
....
oh, and some guy named Hibbs, from Arundel (LOL)

as for who is the "Top Five"? ....these, along with those previously mentioned, are all good choices.

Of the kids I have seen pitch I was very impressed with

Tyler Hibbs
Kyle Blackwell
Scott Silverstein
Lou Mari

I am very impressed with the pitching staff at Huntingtown this coming year.

I have heard good things about Brady as well Hessler.

It appears that Saint Johns HS will have very strong pitching this year with Connor Hoehn, 6'2" RHP, Senior, Scott Silverstein, 6'4" LHP Junior and Hugh Adams,6'4" RHP Junior.

I will be the first to say that I am not very up to date on the players out of the dc/montgomery area. But with that said as to the Baltimore region i would have to say the big 3 would be Jacobs from Parkville, Rivers from Eastern and Hibbs from Arundel. Although there are some very good ones out there also.

If we're talking velocity and you want to go by the ones ('08 - '09s) that just attended the Perfect Game Underclass showcase, lets try:

90 mph – Tommy Winegardner (Riverdale)
87 mph - Tyler Hibbs

I was at the showcase, and those velocities are where they sat for most of the pitches. I didn't see Tommy throw below 87 for his two innings on the mound...smoke...except for his 77mph knee buckling CU.

Add into that the lefty Scott Silverstein who is now consistently in the upper 80s and you've got a nice underclass from this area.

Not to take anything away from the others mentioned and I'm sure there are others, but these three for right now are the top tier.

I would put my money on Danny Hultzen. Classic finesse lefty.

I dont know alot of these other kids mentioned here but I have seen Hibbs several times. If there is another 08 better than him I would love to see him but not face him. Hibbs is nasty!

Hibbs not only brings it, but he's got great control.

Top leftys in the area are both on St.John's Nick Routt and Scott Silverstein they are both amazing. They both work out with the legendary Pat McNair and throw high 80's. Both being looked at by big ACC and SEC teams.
