Received commitments from Richmond, William and Mary, Lenoir Rhyne, NC Wesleyan, St. Marys, UNC Greensboro, the list is growing....Again expect 35-40 college coaches
It's only the beginning of September and we have 20 college coaches committed. Mars Hill and NW Shoals stated they will be represented. We may push 50 college coaches, I highly recommend you register now.
Al, This is Coach Tawney from Villa Julie College. We will be there as always! And for the record, I really appreciate the gathering of talent that is put on at the MVP showcase. It allows me to see 70 or so arms in a couple of hours plus catchers! At only $125 feel free to advertise as much as you'd like!
Al, at what age (grade) do you recommend starting showcases? I don't want to start before the coaches will have interest in seeing my son, but I also don't want to start too late to get him exposure. Thanks in advance,

As you may know, the Pitching/Catching Showcase is right before the early signing period. Immediately after the early signing period, all Juniors become Rising Seniors for all intent and purposes.
So to answer your question for the Pitching/Catching Showcase I would say High School Juniors/Seniors as well JUCO Freshman and Sophomores.
In fact, because so many colleges have already received verbal comittments, they are hoping 2007 are going to be there.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call at (410) 721-4203.
What sort of exposure is this for catchers? I noticed that you are offering this for "free", so what are expectations for the catchers?
Son is '06 and we just might have a free weekend on that date. You mentioned that you have a bunch of colleges committed to attending... do you have a list?
Thanks a bunch!

Snowball, I usually have 18 06 catchers to ensure they are well rested and I have each one of them take BP and the PP Time in front of the college coaches.
In addition, as with all the pitchers present, I will gladly forward how they do to any college not present.
I certainly would love to see you and your son attend. Please register and reference him as a catcher.
Also note we have Kevin Schnall on 16-17 December.
I attended MVP's Pitcher/Catcher showcse last year when I was coaching at a MD JUCO. I have to say there was a ton of talent there and it was great for us as college coaches to see it in a organized and one day timeframe. I came away with plenty of pitchers to follow up with as well as several catchers who caught my eye. For the price of this event its a great chance to showcase in front of 35+ college coaches.

VA Sportsmom - Al is one of the greatest guys here. I can tell you first hand that it's not about money with him. I've referred several kids in his direction because I know what he can do for them. Not that he needs anyone to speak up on his behalf - just wanted to!

I certainly appreciate the kind words, and all I can say is, I am a parent also. I try and organize our events from that perspective and will do my best to provide what is the most effective to help the kids as well the college coaches to see the kids.
How about a catcher who is a '05 graduate that is interested in college for possibly the spring semester or definately the fall. Is that too late for the Showcase?
