A touch of spring, in fact a couple days of summer, but as we head back to brrrrr lets us know how you all look.

As always there is no need for kid bashing or team bashing. Just let us know how you all look.

Team Name:
Big Name Players:
General Overview:

Example: I saw Arundel Play, and I am sure they may want to add names of players I don't know, but it will give you an idea.

Team Name: Arundel
Big Name Players: Corey Overholtzer, Tyler Hibbs, Matt Skrenchuk, Shawn Pleffner
General: Baseball, regardless of the level, is a Pitching/Hitting game. I saw several pitchers for Arundel do well against Mt. St. Joe hitters and I believe Arundel has 4 very good hitters and a couple more good hitters which should provide them with a great opportunity to do well this year.

Let's hear from others. I know there are big time players on St. Johns, St. Albans, Dematha, Riverdale Baptist, Broadneck and many others. Calvert Hall has to be good, and I have seen a couple quality pitchers from St. Pauls this year. Let us know how you are doing.

Team Name:Linganore Lancers
Big Name Players: Carl Huber, Jay Greene, Justin Powell, Ryan Murray, Mike Herrod, and Derek Seib. Not sure how they rate to the other big name players but these would be ours.

General Overview: We have 9 returning seniors, 7 of which started as Juniors. We'll see how we are looking for this season a little better once we play St. Joes on the 23rd.

We also have some nice young talent that I'm hoping we'll step up this season and fill in our holes.

Appreciate the input regarding Linganore.

Not trying to compare players from one team to the next, as I am sure you would agree each player's competition is themselves.

Sounds like you are headed in the right direction. My best to you all and tell Ryan to keep working hard.

Al,

Have had the pleasure of watching Broadneck scrimmage three teams; Elkton, MD, Cape Henlopen(ranked 7th in DE), and McDonough.

Very good performances from pitchers 5 total runs over three games (using 6 different pitchers).

Solid top to bottom hitting. Better than 12 runs per game. Quite a few extra base hits over the three games.

Defense will determine season. Could be a major surprise in AA County this year. Not much credit given to them so far.

It is nice to hear Broadneck handling the coach transition well. Unless I am mistaken, I see AA County being a Arundel/Broadneck battle this year.

Certainly wish Mike, Zach, and Nick much success this year.

North County pitcher Pat Smith threw a 5 inning no-hit game last week with 15 strikeouts. He only allowed one batter to actually put ball in play, which was misplayed for an error. This kid is going to have a special year.

I'm proud to post that Derek Seib and Justin Powell from Linganore combined for a no-hitter against Winters Mill last Friday. Great accomplishment for two fine young men.

Arundel bested Southern 12-0 behind a 5-inning, 1-hit shutout by Tyler Hibbs. Don't know exactly how many strikeouts, but it had to be about 10. That makes him 2-0 with no earned runs allowed and about 18 Ks in 12 innings of work.

What's a guy do for an encore after striking out 15 in a game...he hits 3 HRs in a game, that's what!

Great hitting. Congratulations are in order to the young man.

It makes me ask one question, if the kid keeps hurting you with his bat, why do you keep giving him pitches to hit?

noidea

Thanks to all! And in response to R Ringer, we couldn't figure that out, either. They were hit off of two different pitchers. I guess the coach didn't believe that it could happen a third time....but they did walk him in the bottom of the seventh.
