Can anyone suggest the best run camps in Maryland for Winter 2007 and Summer 2008? My son is 11 and will turn 12 in March. Next year this time he will be moving up to the 90' diamond.

I am anxious to get him in front of knowledgeable folks, with him on a field, for a totally unbiased assessment of his skills.

R we better off attending local private school camps or local college camps for kids his age? We had been attending the MC Germantown camps every year but wondered what else is out there.

ThanksSmile

Southern Maryland is a great camp. The winter camp is designed for high school players but the summer camp would be great for a kid your son's age.

I'll echo sentiments about the Southern MD camp. Don't know much about the pre-HS part of the camp, but the HS age part is pretty darn good. Also, the summer camp is the one for pre-HS age. This should also give you and your son a good look at what the next level of skill looks like. From there, you should be abl eto get a feel for his current skill level and areas he may need to work on.

If you have questions on the So. MD camp, give Jerry a call...he really seems like a great guy and very approachable and realistic.

Good luck!
