I'm from White Plains, NY and my team is playing Centennial HS from Ellicott City, Maryland on Thursday. Does anyone know anything about this team? I'm scheduled to pitch. Thanks.

You'll have your work cut out for you. Great program with a long tradition of excellent baseball.

Good luck. My son plays for Centennial; has started since his Freshman year when they won the 3A State championship. He always looks forward to the New York trip. You guys play really decent ball.

Current record is 8-0; five wins by slaughter rule. Runs for = 90+, Runs Against = < 10.

rgrrk- PM me and let me know who your son is... I play for White Plains High School, we are scheduled to play against Centennial on Thursday @ 11 AM and I am on the mound. Those are pretty impressive stats there for the team, so we should have some stiff competition. Now the only thing I can ask is, where do I pitch to everyone? Smile

Austin Harclerode. Yeah...I heard about his dinger hitting the school roof.

He throws a ton...but, his right shoulder and elbow are a bit sketchy. That's why he only closes.

He, the CF, and my son have all played together for years. They all three started as Freshmen, and went to the ABAA World Series championship game last summer.

Centennial did play Iona Prep on Sat 4/15, maybe it was just a scrimmage and did not count. Were you at the game rgrrk? Centennial made a very good impression on their NY trip. Very good team.

cibaseball: I just checked the website and the game is not listed... I called a friend on Iona Prep and he said that the game probably counted as a scrimmage but he doesn't know he was sick and wasn't there. Harclerode's shot that hit the roof was against North Rockland at Mamaroneck High School. I wasn't there, but it hit the lower roof near the gym which is probably close to 400 ft. away. I pitched against him earlier that day and he took a changeup away deep to right center for a triple, and it wasn't a bad pitch.

We were estimating he probably threw upper-80's, which is pretty quick but we've seen that before. It was heavy, though, and deceiving because he doesn't have an arm circle so it gets on you fast.

The centerfielder... Bechta? A short, stocky and strong lefty... he started pitching against us he went 6 good innings, he didn't throw real hard but mixed it in and out and changed speeds well.

Which one was your son? I probably won't remember by position, but being the pitcher I'll remember by where he was in the order Smile

Hi JH

My son pitches for Iona Prep. You are correct it was not in the paper. I think they won 12-2. Not sure of the exact score.

I heard you are a very good pitcher, good luck with the rest of the season.

thanks cibaseball... hell of a program they got over there. I'm good friends with the Ardino boys, we played together in middle school and one year at Frozen Ropes. Hope everything is going well and maybe we'll see you guys in the future
