We are looking to come out to the Baltimore area to visit my son over Easter.

My God are hotels expensive!

My wife found a couple of places in the Jessup/Columbia area and was wondering if those are safe neighborhoods? Can't be more specific because they don't tell you which hotel (told it was a 3 Star hotel) till you book it.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Big

Call your sons coach--he probably has relationships with a number of hotels/motels in the area--he can probably get you the university rate

I grew up in Columbia and live about 15 minutes west of there now. Columbia is one of the first planned communities developed by the late Jim Rouse. Columbia is a great area to visit and stay. Which hotels/motels are you looking at? Along the Jessup corridor, some of the motels are not all that appealing. If you can send me a PR with more detail, perhaps I can help. Where does your son go to school?

You might also look around BWI airport for hotels. Good selection at various price points, convenient to I-95, etc. and Arundel Mills Mall.
