Except for a handful of naysayers, I think there is a sense of something fresh and new happening in College Park. The first steps seem positive, let's hope it continues and turns into wins - ACC wins - for the Terps.

By connecting to the local Maryland high school/travel programs(which is happening I am told), the new staff will:
A) have a better shot at landing the top in-state talent; B)have a better chance at putting people in the stands at Shipley; and C)have more positive local press. These may/may not translate directly into conference wins....but it's a start.

These guys are certainly hard at work getting the top MD talent. I heard they just signed Ramsay from SP and I saw them at the Crab Claw. I wish them all the best and it seems like UMD has a bright future under the new regime.

Totally agree. Having participate in the past receruitment efforts first-hand, I can say that "communications" and presence were totally lacking. If Bakich generates the energy necessary to attract the State's finest - then
"they will come"......The tools of marketing will be most important versus conditions of facilities etc. which will become secondary in importance.
