My son, a freshman, is being assigned to the Ripken League.
I visited their site, and see that they are fairly new (2005).
I'm just wondering how the league is viewed in terms of quality of ball, ease of getting to fields, etc.
How is the league percieved relative to other leagues? I see there are quite a few leagues....and I wonder why did son get assigned to this league? It is no where near our residence.
Do coaches try to match level of play? Is it based on where coaches have contacts? Those, plus need of position by a team? A place where coaches can stop by and see how he is developing over summer?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
ps. I posted this in the general forum, but thought this forum may be appropriate. Thanks.

The league has been around for sometime used to be called the Clark Griffin. We have hosted a number of kids in the past. I like the league it has some very good teams and coachs in it. There are a couple new teams. What team will your son be playing for?
