I live in the Bel Air area. Can you provide more details on the facility...where it's located, when it is scheduled to open, etc.

Thanks

I am not really sure of the road names up in the area, but if you are from there this should help. Across the street from the BMW dealership, I think is is Graynor(sp?) Rd. or something like that. Back in the industrial complex. Near the emissions center. I heard they have a web site but don't no for sure. It is suppose to open around Thanksgiven. When I get more info I'll post it.

I just spoke with the people there. It is going to be called Diamond Pro and should be open the weekend of 12/22. They had a minor delay but looks like a go for that weekend. It is run by Randy Kail and Alex Smith. Both are very bright baseball people. Looks like they will have the pro-batter system, which if you never seen it it is amazing. I will try to find out how to post a link for it BUT I am very computer dumb so might have to get someone else to do that.

I'm sure Alex and Randy will do an amazing job! They are both tremendous teachers of the game. This has been a dream of theirs for some time, and now it looks like reality. Good luck guys!

Calling all players, parents and coaches. Go check out the new Diamond Pro indoor facility this weekend in Bel Air. They officially open this Saturday. I have no financial interest in this place...I simply believe it is going to be as fine a training facility as we have here in Maryland.

From what I have been told, it is more baseball then Grand Slam. You won't find the putt putt or arcade aspect. Just good old fashion baseball, along with the Pro-Batter system which if you never seen it is pretty neat. Anyonway they are having an open house Sat. from 10-7 and again on Sun from 11-3. As to from Morgan it is probably 30 mins give or take. But it is a very easy trip up 95 to Belair. Anyway I probably wont be on here a few days Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all

There's also a new facility opening in Upper MArlboro, MD in early February. It's an Extra Innings franchisee.

Isn't Extra Innings the kind of place where you take your kids for a birthday party or to hit in a cage on the weekends? Is the owner going to have trained hitting instructors there to work with players? Sounds great for a real good time and I'm sure I'll take the kids down to check it out.

Heard the place in Belair is a true training facility in every sense of the word. Pro Batter system, experienced instructors (one is a full-time scout for the Nats), systems to train players in the mental and physical aspects of baseball...

I'm not downing the Extra Innings place, and Upper Marlboro should be a great location. Simply stating what I percieve to be the differences between the two places. Correct me if I am wrong.

Larry,
You are correct about Diamond Pro in BelAir. You have to check out the computer program Randy and Alex have that breaks down your swing frame by frame or your delivery. It really should be a great training center

Larry -
Yes, B-Day parties are just an added benefit to the entire package. Our advisory staff includes Guy Smith (Milwaukee Brewers), Tony Coyne (New York Mets), Terry Terrill (Riverdale Baptist), and many more. We also will have a strength and conditioning coach (Assistant Trainer, Washington Caps).

Over 17,000 sq ft. of training space to include: 8 multi-purpose tunnels, 3 timer-operated Amusement Pro machines, a fully stocked pro shop, and a training room for members.

All in all, it's going to be an excellent facility in a great location.

Hope to see you soon. Projected opening 10 Feb 2007.
