Most Valuable Player is hosting an Evaluation/Exposure workout, Sunday 16 July 2006 at Riverdale Rec (Where Dematha Plays).

The main focus is to:

  • Tell Players what they are good at
  • Tell Players what they need to work on, and
  • Tell Players what they need to do to help correct their weakness.

In addition to working with the players while they are there, Most Valuable Player will provide them with a written document in a day or two after the event.

For the Rising Seniors our Evaluations do not stop there: At no extra charge, we will contact the college coaches where we believe you can play at.

Cost is only $95.00

I realize several teams are headed to national tournaments the following week, so I wanted to ease everyone's mind and explain:

The players will not be overworked. Using the Pitcher as an example: After we loosen them up with plyo's, long toss and flat ground, they will only throw between 8-15 pitches to let us see their mechanics, velocity, movement, offspeed pitches, etc...I would argue they could pitch that evening if they had to.

Hope this helps ease a few parents mind to take advantage of this opportunity.

Hi, Al. some more questions:
How many kids will you have? How many coaches and who are they? Will it be a scrimmage format or just drills? Time frame? Will our sons get to play their position? Live pitching to hitters? As you know, we are sort of new to the showcase type of format. Thanks for further explanation!

Logan's Dad--Although he has gone through a traumatic experience, it sounds like he has made it through. Glad to hear he is picking up a baseball, and sincerely wish him well.

Our Evaluation/Exposure Workout is a pro-style workout where each players works out individually at their position. With your son being a catcher, we would see how well he blocks the baseball, his pop-pop time to second, see how he handles pitchers (soft hands, how low does he goe, ect...) and he would have live BP to help us understand how he hits (does he get his arms extended, what does he do with a pitch on the outer half of the plate...)

We do not play games because the focus is your son and not the pitcher or the other team. We want to know your son's mechanics so we can help him improve, as well describe your son to other coaches.

Do not hesitate to call if you would discuss it further.
