As always take the high road. Lets try and keep the format pretty standard to make it easy to read. If it is a close game, take time to recognize a very good offensive/defensive play that may have won or saved the game. Please, if the game is one sided just list hits/plays worth noting.

Appreciate the recognition of players on both teams if possible.

The season is about to start.

Winning Team: Riverdale Baptist
Losing Team: Loyola
Score: 20-2
Winning Pitcher: Chad Jennings (4 innings, 1 run)
Losing Pitcher: Arrabal
Key Plays: Mike Kauffman's two-run single to bring RBS from a 1-0 deficit in the second: Alex Peguero's bases-loaded double to break the game open in the fourth.
Plays Worth Noting:
Loyola took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a double by Ansell and a single by Lerche. Loyola shortstop, Howanski, made a nice over-the-shoulder catch of a would-be run-scoring blooper in the fourth.

Winning Team: Severna Park
Losing Team: Spalding
Score: 12-2
*** First scrimmage, can't read much into it, but I trust Severna Park has a very good team since I have been hearing a lot about a much improved Spalding program the past couple of years.

Winning Team: Quince Orchard HS
Losing Team: Riverdale Baptist
Score: 17-2

Several QO pitchers (and JV at that) threw a two hitter to quiet the RB bats. The QO hitting had their way.

The bulk of QO returns as runners up in the 2003 4A Maryland HS Championship, and is the American Legion summer club that ran thru
the Legion Maryland states mercying everybody!

QO will be ranked, and high this year.

Regards
Bear

Winning Team: Magruder JV
Losing Team: Gaithersburg JV
Score: 8-4
Winning Pitcher: James MacArthur
Losing Pitcher:
Key Plays: Ace pitcher James MacArthur went 6 1/2 innings ringing up 6 strikeouts while giving up 2 runs late in the 5th. The Colonels hit the ball well and consistently, with Henry Belfont hammering a 340ft shot with bases loaded giving him a base clearing triple.

The Trojans fought back hard in the last two innings with a key hit that bounced off the fence from Ben Cross which drove in two runs and closed the gap. The Trojans were on a role and making a hard fought comeback, but the frigid temperature and setting sun cooled their final batters while Marauder's other ace Kevin Jefferies closed the game with a save.

Hey Cuban Lefty!

He's doing well. He made varsity this year and is starting at 2nd. Matt Sweeney is starting at catcher and hitting in the 4 spot.

Yesterday the Magruder varsity defeated G'burg 18-16...they came back from being down 11-0 in the first inning! LOL...

Apparently the temp at the Magruder field, which sits next to a field of wheat and hay on a barren hill that acts like an old time air-conditioner, was around 10 degrees wind chill.

How is it going with you?

Peace

Really... somewhat surprised that he is starting on Varsity. Aluminum does do wonders for batting Wink. I am doing well. Number one starting pitcher and hitting cleanup for Bullis.(.500 as of todays game). Let me know if ya'll are still interested in playing with Maryland Patriots 15U.
