Bandits -- congrats to Patapsco for reaching the finals. Was your son in the mix ? Wish I could pick in your favor, but have to go with La Plata.

Son was starting 2nd baseman (playing there because he's still rehabing from Tommy John).He was the # 4 hitter in line-up but had a bad day at the plate.If Laplata wants this game they better have some good pitching because Patapsco has a very good hitting team. No one has shut them down yet this year. We threw our # 3 starter against Centennial. Centennial had some good pitching but the Patriots hit them pretty hard. Patapsco hasn't got any respect all year so their playing with a chip on their shoulders. No matter what happens in the finals they've had a great run.

I was surprised that Clear Spring lost. They had a powerhouse this year. I mean they were LOADED. Not real surprised about South Hagerstown. They had a real strong roster and they were tough all year. I've got to root for LaPlata since I was born and raised there. In any case, it's time for some thrilling baseball!

I am pretty sure S. Hagerstown is being disqualified due to having their pitcher (Brandon Knight) throw too many innings. He threw 15 innings in 6 days. therefore Marriots Ridge will play Kent Island in 2A

Not only did S.Hagerstown get disqualified but I just read that his pitcher threw a 156 pitches in that game. That's not couting the other innings he threw that week. In the article I read it said his pitchers are on a conditioning program and are used to throwing alot of pitches. This pitcher also gave up like 9 runs in the first few innings. Heck I guess if you have nobody else just pitch the kid till his arm falls off.



To bad they got disqualified,they could have brought this kid back and pitched him another 150 pitches. Coach already said he's on a conditioning program so it's not like there's any risk of hurting this kids arm.

It's unfortunate for the kids on the team who've worked so hard and fought to get to this point. That's all I'll say about that. Ralph's no newcomer to coaching HS baseball.

Does anyone have any info on the game results? The MPSSAA brackets aren't updated yet.

Not only did the pitcher Brandon Knight throw 156 pitches in the semis, I played against South Hagerstown in the regional finals for liberty and their ace Tim Leather threw 144 pitch complete game. Knight had thrown a CG 3 days before his game and Leather threw 6 innings 3 days before his complete game.

I said that La Plata better bring some pitching if they wanted to win. Well they brought a stud. Not only did he have a good breaking ball but was told his fastball touched 90 and threw upper 80's all night. Patapsco played probably their worst game all year.I think they let the atmosphere get to them. They had 6 errors and some of the players seemed to fold under the pressure. My son said that the infield was alot faster then they thought( he had one of the 6 errors). It was still a fun ride getting to play in the state finals.Patapsco had never been to a championship before and told my son he should be proud. Andrew went 1 for 4 pulling a fastball down the left field line and later scoring our second run. Considering he had his Tommy John in August and wasn't even sure if he'd play this year, I think after the sting where's off he'll look back and see how lucky he was to play this year.


Again hats off to La Plata they totally out played Patapsco last night. Good luck to their pitcher,I heard he was going to George Washington. I think he has a bright future ahead.

Mr. Huber,
Congratulations to Andrew, Ronnie and all the players at Patapsco. I told Mike he would need to bring his "A" game.

If I may, I am very proud of Mike and his performance. This is a kid who honestly came to me wondering if he could even pitch in college. With a few minor tweaks to his approach physically and discussions about his mental game, Mike blossomed.

George Washington is not only getting a great pitcher, they are getting a well rounded person who I truly believe has made the transformation of questioning himself to a realizing he controls the world he lives in, and that world may just be pro ball some day!

Congratulations Mike Boyden, really proud of you.

PS: How is they say, "shout out" to Jordan McGraner, Andrew Huber, Ronnie Bolyard and both teams.

Would have to agree with you on Mike. He was by far the best pitcher Patapsco has seen all year. Also agree that he has a bright future ahead. Watched his post game interview on digital sports and he seemed like a well spoken young man. If we had to lose it was nice to lose to another team that doesn't get much publicity. Andrew was told to take pitches and he said with that guys breaking pitch it put you in a big hole if you got behind in the count. I know he got ahead of almost every hitter and was painting the corners. If you see him tell him could luck in the future.


As for Andrew he can now just concentrate on finishing his rehab and get ready to start pitching again. He's hoping to come back very strong for his senior year. Again congrat's to La Plata.
