Congrats to Calvert Hall Cardinals on a hard fought win against St. John's DC today. Great day, great game, great stadium. Keep workin' hard; keep playin' hard. Ignore the haters...believe in yourselves and each other.

Kevin Lingerman went the distance for CHC and L.J. Hoes for St. John's pitched four and then Hugh Adams came in to finish. Lingerman gave up 3 hits, 5 walks (1 intentional to Hoes in the 7th) and 7- K's. I think both St. John's runs scored on passed balls. The Cards won it in the 7th when Evan Cain reached on an error and Soph. Pat Fitzgerald doubled down the LF line to bring him in.

If I were Calvert or St. John's I'm not sure how I'd respond to that write up. It's been said a billion times in the game of baseball, "on any given day, anything is possible", but this entire piece just seems to rip in to the fact that this one high school in Florida is simply far superior than any mid-atlantic team. It may very well be a true statement but one I'm not willing to buy in to that. I know Hosmer and Marrero personally (from American Heritage HS), yes they are very gifted but they don't call it a game of streaks for a reason.....and if the timing were right I do believe that the top teams from the Metro area may very well surprise this and a few other Florida teams. If you want to stack up talent and compare side by side, indeed, American Heritage has more studs on one team than any other team in this region but does this deserve a write up in BA and in the fashion that it was written, I don't think so. FWIW IJMO
