The Derek Hacopian Baseball Academy (Gaithersburg,MD) will be holding tryouts at the end of August for a fall showcase baseball team. The team will be participating in 3-4 showcase tournaments throughout the Mid-Atlantic region during various weekends in September and October. The focus of the team will be to expose high school players to collegiate coaches, while looking to also improve the players skills/fundamentals. During specific fall weekdays, the team will be participating in the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League (NVTBL). The NVTBL will be used to improve the players skills/fundamentals in preparation for the "showcase" weekends. I will have the exact date of the tryout by the end of the week. The tryout is scheduled for Sunday, August 27 in Montgomery County, MD. Right now we are finalizing an exact location and time for the tryout. Here are the 4 "showcase" tournaments we will be attending:
1) Copperhead Fall Invitational
September 8-10 at Pfeiffer University and Catawba College
2) WWBA - Perfect Game Northeast Qualifier
September 16-18 in Yaphank, NY
If we win this qualifier, then we would be participating in the national tournament in Florida (during late October)
3) Charleston Mid-Fall Showcase Tournament
September 29 - October 1 in Charleston, SC
4) Charlotte Heat Fall Showcase Tournament
October 20-22 at Lenoir-Rhyne College (NC)
