I'm involved in field maintenance of a baseball field used by our junior high school. The local recreation board says they will give some money toward purchasing a fence guard/topping over the chain link fence that surrounds most of the field. The fence is about 4' high around most of the outfield. Most comparable fields around my area (NE PA)use the 4 1/2 poly tubing around the fences. I also see there is some type of flat Plastic guard that is made (more expensive, but less to ship). At any rate, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on which way to go on this. Budget is also a concern. I'm probably looking at covering about 1000 ft of fence. I've been told that the poly-tubing wears out pretty quickly in a few years due to UV sunlight.

check your local fire house for old hose.rip it,cut it and drape it over the top. a tie wrap every now and then keeps it in place. not as pretty as the store bought, but works great.

If it's true that we're all here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?
