My son is a junior college shortstop that is exactly 6 months out from his labrum surgery on non-throwing arm. At his appointment yesterday, the doctor was in awe that he has actually strengthened his 'surgeried' ? arm to be slightly stronger than his normal arm and it's pretty strong. The key to a great recovery rate is strict physical therapy and not rushing getting back. IT is a very slow, tedious, and oftentimes depressing process to go through. On an open surgery, there is so much that has to heal back, as opposed to arthroscopic repair. Son will get to play his college sophomore year this coming season. Be sure to find the best sports orthopedic surgeon that has experience with baseball players. Good luck to you!!
