If you are still expieriencing problems you may want to check out the post below:

I spent months trying to figure out what was wrong with my son before the other members here suggested we see a specailist. Good luck.

X-rays will not usually reveal a new stress fracture of the par interarticularis, spondylolysis. You need to go to an orthopedist familiar with the problem. There are clinical tests for spondylolysis that the doctor can do and perhaps your son's doctor did them and they were negative, but given that he was concerned enough to take x-rays then the next logical step is a bone scan or MRI to check for a stress fracture or stress reaction.

get an MRI.Dont put it off because of cost.Initially, thats what they will try to have you do.It will only make it worse if you continue to play on it as well

A teammate of mine was just diagnosed with a stress fracture, and I also had two(same column of spine) for roughly 4 months. Its getting to be a common injury

good luck, hope that everything comes back negative

I am a 16 year old and I also had lower back problems. I tried rest and all kinds of lower back exercises but nothing seemed to help. The pain would come when I threw hard and when I had swung a bat alot. I went to a specialist and had a bone scan done and he said I had spondylilosis. He told me that if i could stand the pain that I could finish out the season without hurting my back any worse. So I finished the season and went back to him and he put me in a chair back brace. I have to wear it for 3 months without any physical activity. Then hopefully the bone will grow back together and I will be able to play again.
