My son has been experiencing pain in the back of his shoulder. Not the shoulder blade, but above the triceps in the shoulder muscle. Is this simply tendonitis, or is it a more serious injury to the labrum or rotator cuff?

I had a torn labrum/rotator cuff with the symptoms of sharp pains in the back of my shoulder. My shoulder would also shift in and out of place and I lost about 15 mph on my throw across the diamond (shortstop).

Need hitting instruction? Have a video? E-mail me for help.

You're going to have to have an exam to find the cause of pain.

Sounds like Teres minor or infraspinatus muscle strain.
