I think that it will depend upon the nature of the surgery. The one I know about is the use of the Patella tendon in a bone tendon bone graft ACL replacement. When exploring options, this was one of the possibilities that was discussed (we went with another option). The doctor told us that it would be 3-4 months before the bone grafts would be secure and the tendon healed - and 6-8 months before player would be cleared to play again. Others have gotten other time frames from their doctors but this seems to be pretty much average.

Thanks. I'm looking at just a bone graft with no tendon or ligament work. So that sounds like closer to the 3-4 month side of the range?
