I'd like to get some feedback from message boarders, it was suggested to run a league from the end of july through late august only 3 or 4 weeks total. The idea would be that we would field 4 teams that would play against each other locally three games a week, 1 week night and 2 weekend games(doubleheader). No post season just a mini league to put the boys out on the field more during the summer. Age would be 14/15/16. Cost would need to be calculated based on number of games. Any feed back would be appreciated.

Doesn't that run during the Legion playoffs? I don't know about other leagues. That might be a snag.
Not a bad idea though.

My thought is that it would be for younger players, I have no intention of interfering with Legion or Senior Babe or Babe Ruth. I think a week or two off for the older guys before Fall Varsity League and Showcase League is good for them.

I like the idea. It would be great for the kids in that age group that play or will be playing football for their school that fall and couldn't play fall ball.

Babe ruth Districts were in the middle of July last year with States running the last week of July. So the first 4 weeks of August would workout well for it. Unless a local team or two made a run to Regionals for Babe ruth there should be enough kids to participate I would think. I'd be mentioning it to my son to see if he were interested.

One potential draw back is that the Jr Legion Regionals are being held at Gill August 6th - 9th. NH as the host will field two teams in the tourney. That could take a few players out of the pool of potential players...Or pose an issue for games that weekend anyways. Just an FYI....
