Our son (and his wife) will be headed to Alabama in a couple of weeks to play minor league baseball in Mobile for the Mobile Bay Bears (their new affiliation is with the Diamondbacks). Was wondering if any of our HSBBWebsters are in that area as my husband and I will be trying to get there in May (around the 3rd week when the team is there for a home stand).
Please let me know as I would enjoy meeting another HSBBWebster in my travels around the country.

FutureBack.Mom, Your son will enjoy playing in Mobile at Hank Aaron Stadium. I live in the other end of the state, but frequently travel to Mobile to watch high school games. Several of our players are from that area and some of our former players are playing at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
Best of luck to your son and make sure to eat some gulf shrimp while down there. Some of the best in the country!

We may be there for the Sunbelt Conference Tournament May 23-26. Not sure yet though. Should be heading to a Regional the following weekend. At least Jr. says they are. We should get some shrimp, if we end up there together.

Most definitely. That shrimp sounds wonderful (and that is about the only seafood that I really like). I will get in touch with you ... your e-mail is on your profiles, as is mine ... and let you know when we will be there.

Mary Ann, I have no idea what our summer holds yet, but I see AJ should get up to TN a couple of times. I would love to see him throw and will keep his schedule in my favorites and let you know if we can get down when he gets up in that area! Wishing him the best this season!!

Have confirmed our trip and we will be in Mobile from the evening of the 22nd May till morning of 29th. Looking forward to a change of scenery ... been a long time since I was in a humid climate so I may need to do something with this hair.
Dad04 ... Hoping your son's school gets to the tournament and if so, perhaps we can connect. I will send you my cell number etc in a pm
Charlotte ... The Bay Bears will be in Tennessee (Knoxville area) the 3rd week in April and again mid-July. I wasn't sure if you meant the Knoxville area or the West Tennessee area ... where they will be early May.

I saw that Knoxville date. Knoxville is a fairly easy trip for me... West TN is kinda like Western KY... other side of the earth! We're hoping to get to several baseball venues this summer... just depends on what son ends up doing this summer.

Hubby and I will be in Mobile from evening of May 22nd till morning of May 29th. If anybody from HSBBW is around and takes in a BayBears' game, please come by and say hello. We will be in the 'comp' section of the stadium, probably pacing. I will have a score book on my lap and you can't miss the prednisone induced moon face I wear these days. Hope to see anybody around at the time.
