With the Summer League playoffs starting on Monday, is there a place where the brackets are published? The IHSBCA site has nothing but old information.

Also, can someone explain exactly how the Summer playoffs work? How is the seeding done, how are the brackets decided, etc.?

Thanks,

Mike F

The seeding is based on team wins, not regular season record winning percentage. Therefore a team with a record of 19-4 could be seeded lower than a team with a record of 21-13. Like the spring, it still takes five games to advance to the state tournament. Once at state, it is double elimination.

I was under the impression that all teams were limited to the same number of games. Can there really be such a disparity in the records?

The state finals are pool play - not double elimination. The eight teams that makes the finals will be split into two pools. Each team will play the other 3 teams in their pool with the top two teams advancing to meet the to top two teams in the other pool.

There is no limit on the number of games played in the summer. It takes four games to advance to the summer state tournament. Pool play the first three days and then the top two from each pool advance.

There's no limit to the number of REGULAR season games you can play in the summer? I realize the teams that advance will play more, but can a team, during the regular summer season, play as many games as they want?

Something that may be getting overlooked a little is the situation where a school has 2 teams ... so they can do "odd" things (in regards to record and seeding and whatnot) when they combine their teams for the playoffs.

What are the actual dates of the finals? Still at North Central or have they moved to Benedictine?
