Some info on Seibert and then some more on area players to watch.

Players to watch from the St. Louis Area. Some 300 High Schools in Missouri and Illinois are included in the St. Louis Post info and so, these kids come from both states. Still some good stuff.

2ndbasemom, your so right. We play Tinley Park Andrew, Crystal Lake Prairie Ridge and Oak Forest from the North this year. I don't know if you noticed, but a couple of those kids listed are mine. I'm very proud of them. They work so hard and put up with me.

doesn't sound like they are "putting up" with alot!

Andrew always has a very talented team. Coach Ganzer is a really good coach. Same with Oak
Forest.

Thanks hit, I think "parents" ego's get in the way of alot of these topics. Everyone seems to forget that they are talking about KIDS, not professionals. And, even at the pro level, errors do occur. Oh well, I guess without it we wouldn't have much to read would we?

Tiger, I haven't seen your post before. Are you at an AA or A school? I am a lot to deal with. I hope that you don't have a bunch of hard feelings when you say we "scored a bunch of runs." I know that my reputation with opponents isn't too good. If you know my kids, they will tell you that they like playing for me. Good luck this year. Are you still playing HS ball?

I meant to get this post off last week when this was a hot topic, but better late than never. If you have been following High School Baseball in Illinois for a period of time, you would know that Edwardsville High School has been one of the top programs in Illinois over the last 10 years or so. I haven't seen what they have done the last couple of years, but they have been good and good for a while. The 1998 State Champions were one of the best teams ever from the State. Noone was even close to them that year, and their Legion Team made of plaeyrs from that High School was fantastic. Part of the problem here is that most folks here are from the western and southern burbs and I think there is a definite lack of respect for programs in other parts of the area and the state. As some people have mentioned, be proud of your teams and your kids, but don't disrespect others necause you don't know them.

Fastballdad, I don't think its a matter of disrespect, I think we up here get soooo involved in the many top notch programs that we have that we forget that the Chicagoland area isn't all there is to IL baseball. Til State, we usually don't see anyone but the teams from around here. Anyone worth their salt knows that when you step onto the field,,,anyone can win at any time!

Plus, I think we have the most vocal (if you know what I mean) parents in the state...j/k

Mom: You are right......at least about the vocal part...j/k There are a lot of good teams down there, but there are also a lot of good teams in places like the Central and Mid-Suburban Leagues as well as the North Suburban Conference. My point is that there are no more good teams "down there" in the South and West Burbs than there are in the NW an North Burbs. Teams from New Trier, Schaumburg, Barrington, Stevenson, Libertyville and others have done as well as any from the SICA or W. Suburban Conf. over the course of the last 10-15 years, or even the last 5 years. I think it just happens that for whatever reason there are more folks on this message board that are from "down there"
The good news is that just by reading all this, I'm learning a lot about teams that aren't close to home.

Coach do they have any thing about Lindenwood U. in that papper?
My oldest son plays for them, they don't do a good job of posting baseball info on the Lindenwood web site.

Nathan, I thought it might be you. It was such a pleasure watching you play. You are a true competitor. I enjoyed talking to you're Dad as well at the Illinois High School Coach's Association All-Star Game. Too bad it was rained out. Also, thanks for the kind words about my past association with the Edwardsville Program. As you might know, my heart was torn out back then. I was so lucky to get a chance at Triad. They have been very good to me and my kids really work hard. Good luck at Mizzou! BTW, they are interested in Hoef. He did well last night. 3-3 with the Big Fly!
