There is an article today in the Daily Herald about Matthew Wright a 2008 player and graduate from South Elgin High school and also the Bartlet Silver Hawks.

He recently passed away from testicular cancer after a courageous battle with this disease.

Thoughts and prayers for Matthew and his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Matthew's family and friends at this most sorrowful time.

Don't shift the responsibility of your success in this game to somebody else. Be perservering about it. Pay the price and you'll come out where merit takes you. - Branch Rickey

My deepest condolences to the Wright family.

We had a young man go through that at our HS...He played basketball and baseball and had most of his treatments during the early basketball season. After he lost his hair, the entire basketball team played the rest of the season bald, while he sat on the bench and cheered them on.

Jordin Hoods story turned out to be one of unity and perseverence in our community, as he is now the starting third baseman at NIU. It is so unfortunate to have to lose good young men to this disease

Expect that this adventure is going to be difficult. It is going to be hard. And expect to win.
