The time has finally arrived...Fun in the Sun Tourney in Southern Illinois is coming up July 7-9th and it looks like a very competitive tourney... 32 teams begin action on Friday morning at 10am at 5 different sites. A total of 73 games in 3 days.... Hope to see some of you down there...alot of Chicago area teams competing..
I hope the Field situation is taken care of better than this Northwestern tourney. I mean if i'm running a tourney , i have the fields locked up a year before and then we play where we are supposed to. NOT find out on thursday before that we are playing at a totally dif site. not that i dont like triton, i do and i think it was nice of them to step up....but not to well organized.....don't like surprises. especially when you are traveling. so , if they're are no surprises, it should be a good one.

I assure you that the Fun in the Sun wiLL NOT BE ANYTHING LIKE NORTHWESTERN.... THE COMPANY THAT IS PUTTING ON THE NORTHWESTERN TOURNEY IS WELL KNOWN TO BE DISORGANIZED..AND ALWAYS FULL OF SURPRISES...(that is why i left them).... FIELDS ARE ALL SET FOR FUN IN SUN AND PLAY WILL BE AS ADVERTISED....UNLESS IT RAINS IN ONE AREA AND WE WOULD HAVE TO MOVE IT... weather forcast...HOT, HOT, HOT....."Fun in the Sun"
imagine that!!!!! look forward to playing where advertised......of course the tourney here has been cancelled...3 games in three days of 80+ heat . wow am i glad i didn't have to travel for this one...live and learn

I have to say to SIBullets that it was a pleasure talking to you on Saturday and that I was impressed with how the tourney was run. Despite some events that I wish didn't occur, overall, it was a very good series with some talented teams.

Finally got to meet some of the posters on the board. UK I assume it was you who I spoke with on the RF line. I didnt get your posting name but it was great speaking with you also. Just some observations: Brian Stroud is very very good. Even though he didnt have great velocity on Sat. he did show off the hammer he has quite a bit. I was also impressed with the Orland Park Sparks in general. The have a fine bunch of gamers on that team. They gave us a game two straight days. The players were good and their coaching staff was very class also. It was great to talk baseball with those guys. Ryan Court from Lake in the Hills was also very impressive at SS. I wish the tournament was set up a little different. It sucks going 6-0 and getting the consol. championship like we did. The Evansville Razorbacks ended up winning the championship by the way.

I'm with mjdad...how did the championship bracket play out?
BTW mjdad...I watched a couple of the middle innings of your game against the Jayhawks when your team took the lead...I was impressed with your young squad.
