Might be the worst call in the history of the UEC. 2-2 curve hits our hitter with the bases loaded and down 2-1 in the bottom half of the 7th and the umpire calls it a strike............. noidea

Jarthur, as you know no one had a better view of the play than me.
Bottom of 7 bases loaded, 2 out , 1 and 2 count on the hitter, Bartlett ahead 2 to 1. It is this simple, The hitter stuck his elbow out over the plate on a curveball and was hit by the pitch. The umpire called the ball dead, then he called the pitch a strike and the batter out for the final out of the game. No body and I mean no body saw this play as well as me. It was a gutsy call by the ump, but it was also the correct call.

StCharles,Maybe the worst call was the safe call at first on the double play in the same inning. Clearly out by at least half a step.

Stcharles, this was just a baseball game maybe we should put this in perspective and all say a prayer for my teamate Paul who is lying in Delnor Hospital as we speak Thanks, Bret

Bret,

I will say a prayer for the 1st baseman.

I will also get some duct tape for the whinning Rocco!

You had a great view of it and so did I just a few more feet behind you and to the left. Bad call!

Yes it was Grif. An up and in pitch that he was unable to get out of the way of. It hit him solid, there was no sound of the ball deflecting of his helmet it hit him flush in the cheek. He did not get knocked out but was on the ground for about 10 minutes. The side of his face swelled up like a softball. Let's all pray that he is going to be OK.
Paul not only is a great power hitter but is also a top pitcher, as well as one of our Sr. leaders.
