Had a conversation with a parent yesterday about being unable to play yesterday because the school has a policy about burning the infield skin with gasoline because it is "bad for the environment".

With that thought in mind, as I drove through our subdivision this morning on the way to get the paper and some coffee, I saw a couple of 12 packs carelessly discarded by teenyboppers in a random fashion. Seems the drinking is going on during the weekdays, too.

Too, on the way to school, saw teenyboppers smoking in cars and throwing the butts out the window.

I submit all of that clearly shows that only adults are concerned about the environment. That the teenyboppers of today (at least many of them) don't care!

We used to burn our infield before we had grass and you know what, we were turned in to the EPA. It is a violation to do that if you are in any situation where "run-off" can enter the ecosystem. Isn't that just about everywhere?
