There is another head coaching opening at Prairie Ridge, as Dave Haskins resigned from the position on Monday. He went 61-16 during his two seasons with the CL school, along with winning a state championship in 2008. Read more about PR's coaching situation here:

This resignation kind of seems out of the blue, but the same was said about the two other head coaches before him, Glen Pecoraro and Chuck Lowitzki, when they left the program.

Did you read the article? Sounds like they already have their man.

Without a doubt it should be Glen. Having been fortunate enough to have had a son play for both Glen and Coach Haskins...I think Glen is ready to bring long term stability to the Wolves program. Glen left for the right reasons. To be a better family man, improving his academic credentials to further his career. He is already in the building and has always demanded excellence from his players and coaching staff. He is a constant learner and is not full of himself.

No-one has or will ever work harder than Glen. He has the respect of the alumni, parents and faculty. I plan on being supportive in anyway I can. He has the unique ability to teach young student athletes what it takes to compete with integrity and class.

Coach Haskins has left the program in great condition and ready to move forward.

I didn't say I thought he was best for the job - I haven't got a clue or an opinion one way or the other. I just wondered why you posted the article and commented without also stating that it appears likely that they will rehire the previous coach.

Oddly, enough that is why Dave Haskins had to move forward.

I can't imagine putting in the time it takes to run a good HS Program, particulary initially when you have to establish your own program.

I've been as critical as many of some HS Coaching but it is a tough question in terms of balance in a coach's life. I'm sure for a lot of them their life consists of coaching and family. Not a bad combo (nothing is better than family) but still it's a lot to give up, and for them coaching is a labor of love.

It's a very tough balance, and one thing that gets lost, is that not all wives are cut out to be coaches wives. There's a sacrifice at that end too, and some coaches realize that their particular situation will not cope well with coaching hours and obligations.
