Mayor Daley demonstrating to the 2016 Olympic selection committee just how the swimming venue will look like in Chicago.

What he won't show them is that fabulous Corrupt Crony Bucket Brigade that surely will be used to bail out the pool following the closing ceremony!

Good, now there won't be any distractions to trying to run the city, or from trying to see what politicians are really doing.

You got that right CPLZ!

Don't forget about running the state either...it's in nearly as bad of shape as the County of Cook and the City of Chicago.

Everyone roll up your sleeves and start pitching the trash out!

Perhaps we should put this bunch, Chicagoans for Rio, in charge?

Take a look.

Not much to figure out with that decision.

Tokyo guaranteed safe games and put up about 5 billion.

Madrid put up 5 billion but knew they had little chance after the recent Barcelona games

Chicago put up about 5 bil and a good plan.

But.... Rio promised 14 Billion so that they could split the extra 9 billion between bribes and additional security with machine guns to keep the severely poverty stricken population at bay.

Look for the private security, gun industry and IOC members to prosper accordingly.

That's how the game is played soxnole!

In the end it isn't so much about the athletes competing, but rather how much money can be funneled into your cronies pockets.

Interesting stats:

5000 murders last year in Rio.

and that does not count "rapes resulting in death" and other strange categories.

113 deaths by "justified" police shootings.

Makes Chicago look like a peaceful place.

You'd think they'd want to stop keeping track of these things!

Wink

By the way...I talked with a guy over the weekend who rents out golfcarts and he was very upset about Chicago losing the bid. He was looking at 500 to 1000 rentals in the summer of 2016.

He did go on to comment that he has a friend or acquaintance who has a world class security firm that would be able to handle the job in Rio. His friend would have said "thanks, but no thanks" if asked to bid on security for the games. A daunting task indeed for whoever gets selected!

I wonder how many political cronies are standing around pie eyed talking to their Realtor this morning trying to figure out how to dump all the land they bought up in hopes of the games coming... Wink

None of the cronies will be left holding the bag. You can bet that all of the land will be bought at a handsome price by...

City of Chicago, Department of Unanticipated Events. Richard M. Daley-Mayor.

County of Cook, Sacred Patronage Patrol. Todd H. Stroger-Cook County Board President.

    State of Illinois...pathetic!

I remember that ugly "Cubbie blue" State owned facility on the South Side that used to be called Comiskey Park.

We should be fair, taxpayers should build the new "Wrigley Field" there and make it black so we can spend millions more to fix it up to make it more fan friendly 10 years after we build it. How about, change the name to Blago Field!!!!!!!He'll have lots of money from his movie/book deals to pay for the naming rights. Blago will be all for it especially since they took his name off all the Tollway Plazas. Don't you miss that Gotwood? Ha

About the only thing that has changed is that Quinn is a lot easier to pronounce than Blagojevich.

I don't disagree with you soxnole in regards to Governor Quinn. I've liked him for all of the time I've known him. I think he's honest and full of very good intentions. But he's stuck. By Michael 'Lisa's Dad' Madigan.

Illinois, in my opinion, needs to take a massive dump and flush all of the cronies, patronage workers, insiders, wheelers 'n dealers, and your run-of-the-mill corrupt politicians out. Give 'em all swirlies, pull 'em up, laugh at them, and then send 'em down the toilet for good!

Governor Quinn probably feels the same way, but since he is at least partially a product of this incestuous, infested, putrid, bankrupt system he can not escape it's slimy grasp enough to get re-elected as Governor. I wish he could soxnole...our state desperately needs leadership that can steer us clear of the swirled mess.

Madigan does not want anything to change. He's not about cleaning up Illinois. He's about retaining and growing his power. And that anymore is absolutely unsustainable. He is, unfortunately, squelching Governor Quinn who has reform in his heart.

All of this, of course, is only my opinion.

Soxnole-

I was referring to that horrendous "Cubbie blue" color that the seats were when they opened up the "new Comiskey Park/US Cellular Field." How much $$$ did it cost a few years ago when they changed all the blue seats to green. Probably came out of naming rights money but even so, what were they thinking when they opened it up? That would be similar to making Soldier Field yellow and green IMO.

That's a good comparison nc.

Imagine having the interior of Soldier Field yellow and green...

...and staying inside the lines!

Gotwood-

I don't think I could even attend a Bear's game if the stadium was Yellow & Green. Makes me cringe thinking about it!!!
