Another quality event kicks off tomorrow the annual Jack Kaiser Memorial Game which is run by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association. The Kaiser Game is named after legendary Oak Park coach Jack Kasier. Their goal is to attract some of the 35-40 of the top seniors in Illinois to play in one showcase game. This is a good one!

They select the team from recommendations from college and pro scouts and performance at the Stevenson and Plainfield Showcase. They also try to invite some of the best players from other parts of the state.

The game will be played on Tuesday night July 8th @ Les Miller Field on UIC’s campus. Directions can be found on the UIC Baseball Web Page. College and pro
scouts have been invited and in the past the game has been heavily attended.

Here is the agenda:

Check in 5:45 in UIC’s new clubhouse- Mizuno T- Shirts will be handed out
Stretch/Catch/Organization 6:00-6:25
Red Team Infield 6:25-6:40
Blue Team Infield 6:40-6:55
Introductions

Game 7:00 - 9 innings

Pitchers will only be asked to pitch one inning (unless we are short a pitcher
and one pitcher wants to throw more then one). They will have a continuous
batting order.

*Area Code Shortlist from Illinois Maldonado, Krol and Crowley.

where can you find the rosters to this event? I am sure the colleges and pro scouts will want to know this to see if they will attend.

* Maybe it was the heavy muggy air but the radar guns were not jumping nobody hit above 90, maybe the kids are getting warn out from the travel games??
Kids that were being reported as upper 80's and low 90's were nowhere near that last night.
*Note to Staff Maybe a little ceremony to mention Jack Kaiser would have been appropriate. JMHO

I'll just add that Blake Brown, from Normal West(and the Blue squad) also made the Area Code team after attending the Indiana tryout. Blake makes it the second Normal West Wildcat in two years to make it to the Area Codes. Way to go Blake!

Again, I see nothing from south of I-72. You guys really should catch some of the talent out of the Southwest Conference. Some names that probably should have been there....Dane Opel - Edwardsville, Nick Tindall (I've seen Shephard and Tindall's arm is better!), Erik Shanahan-Collinsville. Come on down guys...let's play TWO!!

Dan Sheppard is good and that's great he made the area code team. I'd say he's good all around but just a few weeks ago everyone was saying how Falsetti had the best arm around.

NCSA, had you seen any of these kids play before? Who did you expect to hit 90 that didn't hit 90...? To blame travel ball for kids not hitting 90 is crazy, i sure most of the travel coaches do a good job managing arms. I think you got some bad info because there's only 1 kid on there that roster hit 90 all summer.
