It is extremely appropriate that there are 8 cubs representing a team that has lost 10 of 11 and 16 of 20!

Does the NL really have a chance?

The bigger they are the harder they fall. The days of The AL using the DH to change the game being enough to enable them to win is drawing to a close. The best teams in The NL are hitting better than the best teams in The AL. This in spite of The AL ruining the game with the DH.

The NL is on the cusp of dominating baseball for a while.

The game is an exhibition, so I won't make a pick, but come this fall, the NL Champ will be wearing the the crown.

I love this back and forth. Of course, FBD is correct and Soxnole is doing his best to keep up a good front!

There is a problem with this game, however. You call it an exibition, yet it may be one of the most important games played during the season. You both remember the old days of the All-Star game. The starters played all if not most of the game. When the NL had a starting outfield of Aaron, Mays and Clemente, and before than Musial, there were no subs entering in the 3rd inning. Now, each side needs to win this game, but if a guy doesn't get in, the manager gets ripped. Either this game should be played like a regular season game, or it should not count towards home field advantage in the WS. Simply go back to the old formula which was to switch back and forth each year between AL and NL.

FB...I've got 3 word's for that rash of hitting in the NL.......National League pitching.

So.....From 2 cub fans....No optimism!...thought thats how you would feel.

How about the inter-league games? The Dh causing all those losses?

Good thing for the NL that the all-star game determines WS home field. Inter-League games would assure a permanent home field advantage for the junior circuit!

By the way, tell those NL infielders to duck when Hamilton comes to the plate. They could get hurt!

It will also be appropriate when there are 25 cubbies representing the National League in the World Series.

The Sox will be consumed by the Twins in the next three weeks. Wink

Soxnole, Just watched Dempster ring up your boy JD Drew. Must have ruined your night.

Going to bed now, have to find out in the AM. Pretty good game to this point. I'll never complain when a Met's reliever blows a save!

12 in a row and 17 out of 20!

Domination, not curse!

rosy,

Turned out pretty good for that Nole!

The Sox will now have to win the World Series in game 4 @ wrigley! Too bad the NL didn't win, the celebration could have been at home.

I agree--domination! Since when is the NL "on the cusp" to start dominating?? Last 10 World Series AL 7 NL 3. Games in last 10 World Series AL 34 wins NL 16 wins. AL with home field advantage again, AL win (take your pick of which color Sox).

It is only the few enlightened ones who see the change coming.

AL Heyday is over...all-star game means nothing. Neither manager played it like it counts.

The Cubs will win 2 on the road and 2 at home in The WS in 5 or 6.
