Minooka and Batavia started their seasons yesterday with Minooka taking the win by the score of 4-3. Perinar pitched three innings for Minooka, looked very well as usual. Next game Friday at 4:30.

Anyone else play?

There were several scouts there to see the Mandele/Perniar match-up which did not happen. Mandele has just started practicing this past week due to playing basketball in the sectionals last week. Arm not ready yet. Maybe next game Tues. at West Chicago.

Also 4-3 game with Minooka was cut short due to darkness without any warning. As soon as Minooka took the lead in the bottom of the sixth umpires called the game as they were half way into the parking lot.

Gary P. was excellent, but nothing else though(Pitching). Scouts were impressed.

OPRF shows little in 4-0 loss to Glenbard East. sure hope its the weather. A very well pitched game by the crafty lefty from GE.Called after 5 innings-too dark.

The Pinckneyville Panthers are taking on Freeburg tomorrow at 4:00. Last year's state champions are now freshmen and joined by some players from the feeder schools to try to lead the JV squad to another undefeated season.

Good luck Panthers

Can't imagine a coach kept him in that long. He throws hard enough so that all you have to do is meet the ball (easier said than done).

One of the reasons why I was interested at where the game was played is because HF's fences are about 275' down each line and about 325' in center. Flyballs become home runs.

At Stagg, anything down the right field line needs to go about 240'.

I think 275 down the lines at HF is being generous. It looks shorter than that. I'll bet a measuring tape shows, at least, 20 feet less.

Stagg played at HF. The HR's were in center and cleared the fence by a good distance. Wind was blowing out but not taking anything away from them.!!!!

Ely gave up 10...Don't know who the 2nd pitcher was. He was bringing it also.

This was HF's first game and I was told that because HF is on Spring Break, coach had the boys there at 1. Because of traffic Stagg didn't get there until after 4:15. Long day for their team!

But Stagg did play well defensively and offensively.... Smile

Did HF make a lot of errors or did Stagg hit the ball that well? I only ask because I have seen Ely when he doesn't have his "A" stuff but I just can't see him giving up 10 earned runs.

OK, I'm just mom, so errors aren't something I
really notice, but Stagg did hit the ball well.
It was 7-0 in the 1st. Don't quote me but I do
not think there were any errors. For the grand slam, in the first inning, he walked 2, and hit my son to fill the bases. Luckily, he didn't hit Bret with his fast ball! I think he said it was a
changeup.

in a very well played well pitched game at Schaumburg the Saxons behind the 3 hit pitching of Anthony Serio beat OPRF 3-1.

According to Mr. Groot, this is the least talented Saxon team in his tenure at Schaumburg.
