Two very easy questions.

1) Is anyone here going?

2) What kind of exposure is there?

I asked this abouit 2 months ago, but now I know I'm going for sure, as we have been invited. I'd like to know what it's like. Thanks.

15U Maryland Patriots might go. It would require us to win our Summer League schedule, or the post season qualifyer. More likely that we are going to USSSA East Coast Regionals in Myrtle Beach, SC.

My son played in the AAU Nationals 10u, 12u, and 14u and i can tell you that I don't feel he got any exposure to scouts at all. I can't speak to the 15U, but my personal suggestion would be that if you are looking for exposure to scouts, try to go to one of the Perfect Game showcases or tournaments where you are guaranteed to see scouts everywhere!

You'll really have a great time. The competition is usually very good. Son's team won the 2002 gold medal for 15U in Kingsport, TN. Memories for a lifetime! However, there will not be any college/MLB scouts there unless they have a relative participating! Smile It's way too early to be watching this age group.

You play in events such these to play against stronger competition not for the exposure

I cannot believe that parents have kids in 14U down to 8U competitions and then complain that there were no scouts there-- please give me a break !!!

RHP05Parent is correct in the fact that there are not alot of scouts at an event like that. Then again, so what? The competition is escellent and you find out how you stack up with other players and teams throughout the country. This gives you an idea of where you are as well as incentive to keep working to attain your goals. I know that the NorCal 15's will be participating in the AAU National 15's if we win our local qualifier.

We are hosting our World Championships in Fort Myers with this very topic in mind. Both our 18U and 16U events will be run simultaneously so that the scouts that the 18U division will bring in will get to see the 16U division as well.

We have found that most 16U events are not scouted and we feel that this concept will help to increase the 15-16 yearolds exposure and access to scouts. Yes its early in the process but its the beginning of the process.

There is no qualifier to be in this event. Just some good ole fashioned quality baseball. We are hosting a College Recruiting Seminar for the players and their families as part of our event.

Don't need to worry about scouts at 15. AAU Nationals is a great, competitive, well organized tournament. If your lucky enough, you get knock out of the tourney by teams like NORCAL and finish in the top 8. We had so much fun and met alot of good people both local and on the field. If it is in Kingsport, Tn, ask if anyone remembers the Fightin' Squirrels.
