Our travel team will be moving up to 18u this coming summer. We're looking for tournaments in the NY, Pennsylvania,Connecticutt,Massachusetts area. There are a number for 16u but it seems that 18u is a lil scarce. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TRhit I have a question for you about summer ball. I've read here alot about staying home the summer after Senior year, however my son keeps getting invitations to tryout for different teams and wondering about a few - one is Team Connecticut Baseball (near you?) I thought you might know something about the organization. Posative or negative?

I would like to take this opportunity to say that Team Connecticut is an outstanding organization. They put a lot into their players and expose them to the best baseball possible. It is a good idea to pursue them.
With that said, I firmly believe that seniors that have expectations of earning a job in the fall with their college of choice, should play the most competitive schedule available to him.
Players that take extended time off and do not remain focused on the task at hand can expect more failures than they are accustomed to. Playing a competitive schedule and preparing your self to win a job is something I stress with all of my players whether they are going to a JUCO or a nationally know Division 1 School it does not matter.
Some may disagree, but the bottom line is competition drives a competitor. Having that edge on the next guy and being better prepared is what I teach. The first time you let up and give someone else a shot at your job...there is going to be someone that wants it more and will step in front of you.
