My '09 son attended one last fall just to get some experience with the pro-style workout. He now won't be overwhelmed when he begins his showcase events this spring and summer. No scouts/recruiters will be there. I feel BA uses them to recruit kids for their expensive programs. Overall, a good experience for the money though.

i went and did okay. i thought it was a waist though.they evaluated me better in things im not really stong in then i am in my strenghts.i guess it just had to do with how it was set up.we took 3 fly balls and 3 grounders in the outfield threw against a net with a gun on us and got about 8 or 10 live cuts. over all for 100 dollars with there being no college coaches it was bad.i guess it just depends on what you are looking for.

Did they advertise there being several college coaches and scouts present?

No they did not. All they say is that you will be evaluated by their staff...

our son just went to an under armour tryouts and has been asked to go to one of the tournaments. Has anyone had any experiences with this? Is it worth the money, will he be seen by anyone?

Up until last year, the tryouts were sponsored by PUMA. UnderArmour took it over this year. The Baseball Factory in partnership with Team One conducts many such tryouts throughout the United States for purpose of evaluating players for placement in higher profile events such as Team One Regional or, National Showcases and/or, the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. These events provide a lot of exposure to college coaches at first class facilities. The Team One West Showcase for example, was held at Diablo Stadium in Tempe, AZ (spring training home of the LA Angels of Anaheim). The Arizona Senior Fall Classic, one of the biggest showcase events held during the fall season, is held in Peoria, AZ (spring training home to the Padres and Mariners) and has attracted as many as 150-200 college coaches from all over the country. If your son is selected to one of these events, I would not pass it up!

As a follow-up to my last post, the AZ Senior Fall Classic also attracts every team from the MLB.
