The July 4th Blackhawks tournament which started with twenty teams was narrowed down to 8 which were placed on a single elimination bracket.

Pool play began on Thursday, July 3rd and bracket play began on Saturday with the following teams matched up at UTA's Maverick Baseball field:

- Team DeMarini vs DBAT 18
- E. TX Prospects vs Angels
- Diamonds vs DBAT 16
- Tigers 17 vs TX Sting

The tournament has now been narrowed to four teams with Team Demarini beating the DBAT 18U team in late game yesterday with a score of 6-3.

Team DeMarini 6 5 1
DBAT 18 3 9 2

WP Baune
LP Nowell

The Prospects, Diamonds and Tigers (I think) advanced to Sundays Semifinals as well.

Nope, no funny stuff -- Team D is a solid ball club -- bright baseball futures for many of their players. They did forfeit the semi-final to travel to Atlanta (but it wasn't Father's Day). Cool The BH people were probably aware of the situation.

Final game had East Texas Prospects versus Dallas Tigers.

No Shenanigans here. Tournament ran one time, pools seemed to be even although there were a few younger teams entered, and the overall quality of the teams was good.

PD - the BH and the Prospects were aware of the situation regarding Team DeMarini needing to travel to Atlanta on Sunday. Neither had any problems and both wished them well.

No Father's Day nor bracket byes leveraged here! Just good quality baseball.
