LH over Rock???? McKinney over East???? Ouch. The Swami goes 2-2. Season record: 20-5. Higgins and the Wildcats in the driver's seat at the halfway mark. Round 2 will be interesting. McKinney vs. East was a huge game. McKinney stays alive and East, with a 4th loss, is on the brink of elimination. Looking at the paper, neither Bishop nor Humphreys appeared to have dominating stuff. Hated not to be there for that one. Here are Thursday's picks. The Swami says............
West- 7 Plano- 4 (Wolves complete the sweep)
Rock- 8 Berk- 2 (Mismatch)
Allen- 4 East- 0 (Tolleson goes the distance)
McK- 7 LH- 6 ('Cats are due for a bad one)
Bonus Pick: Davis Love wins the Masters.
A Happy Easter to all.

How could the great Swami miss a game his brother and son are so involved with? Come on Karnac want-ta-be, take off the mask! How does the final standings look now? You have to be happy.

Man, what a race this is going to be during the second half! This district is extremely (sp) competitive from top to bottom. You can't take a day off against anyone. With the schedule balancing itself out on a Tues/Fri thing, the #2's and others will have to step up big time. The only hic-up in the schedule is the last week when they have Thurs/Sat. games because of the good ol' TAKS test. Let's support these young men because they will be under a HUGE amount of pressure in the next few weeks both athletically and academically. One last thing, I for one will be very sad at the end of this month when 9-AAAAA will no longer be in existance. Man, all around great sports district that has been a blast to watch!!!! Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!

In Plano East's two losses this week (Mck & Allen) they have not given any sign of offensive life...2 hits 0 runs vs. Allen & 1 run 3 hits vs. Mck. BUT AVG. 2-4 ERRORS PER...SOMETHING GOTTA GIVE...

LH -- 8-0
Rock -- 7-1
Allen -- 6-2
McK -- 4-4
East -- 3-5 (ouch)
West -- 3-5
Berk -- 1-7
Plano -- 0-8

Looks like a 4-team race for another week or so -- then all that's left is scrambling for a 1st round bye (which isn't always a good thing).

The only surprise to me is how good Allen is -- but I think they will be overmatched, pitching wise, in a 3-game series. LH will face the same challenge.

Ok here goes nothing (just remember my opinion is worth what you paid for it)
Lake Highlands - 12-2
Rockwall - 12-2
Allen - 10-4
Mckinney - 8-6
Plano East - 7-7
Plano West - 5-9
Berkner - 2-12
Plano - 1-13

Hey- nobody's perfect!
Swami - don't let them bash me too bad!

Look for Lake Highlands to take over #1 in the area ahead of Rockwall and Flowermound. They'll probably be tied for 2nd. Swami--You have to be burstin with Wildcat pride.

Maybe when Humphries is on the mound LH is in the top 3 in the area. Take 18 off the mound you are looking at a totally different team. Take note of their seven losses.

The situation was similar last year with McKinney and they found a way to win 9-5A -- using Miller in 12 of the 14 district games (or close to that).....the playoffs wll reveal a team's depth.

In another few games we will be asking that question more frequestly -- do LH, Rockwall, Allen, Flower Mound, etc. have the depth to win a number of game 3's in late April and May?

Haha, I guess you had some insight to the new Dallas poll Swingdoctor. I still dont see how a team with 7 losses earns the number one spot???

Panther Dad,

Your analogy using McKinney is dead on. You may be able to win a district title with one pitcher but the playoffs will expose that theory big time. Depth is key to any team and having a coach that understands that is critical as well. I would hope that LH understands that. It appears that some coaches don't.

Also surprised to see Lake Highlands at #1. Flower Mound and LD Bell only have 3 losses and are in tough districts. You guys are also right about last years Mckinney team. Plano East made it far in the playoffs last year because of their pitching depth.

Hey Fizzle and DBat1, did you two Rockwall homers happen to see the story in the DMN about LH depth on the mound???? I just happened to read it shortly after reading this thread this morning!! Thought it was kinda odd to see you experts saying that LH only had 1 guy that could do the job and then the Dallas Morning News saying the opposite!! Whassup???
Oh and also there was another story about the Carrollton Creekview offense and how they were on a roll right now!! Was'nt it one of you guys that cited the DMN numbers to slam me when I made a comment about Creekview rippin the ball?? ROFLMAO!!!!!!
