After defeating RR Westwood 6-2 in the first game of the week, they defeated Leander 12-2 in five innings tonight to take their district record to 5-3 and have a four game winning streak going. Tonight was the best played game I have seen by RR all year. Leander, on the other hand didn't help their cause by committing at leat 4 errors on the night. I am sure they'll get it back together though!

Georgetown defeated Westwood 9-6 at WW to get back on track and is now 6-2. Its very obvious to me that Leander is going to struggle when Thell doesnt throw for them. I think the district winner will come from Georgetown or RR once the entire schedule plays out. Tuesday night at Georgetown should be a fun game to watch. I am glad we have a one game lead in the standings over RR at the moment.
SP scored 3 in the 7th to beat a quickly improving Cedar Park team. Did you get a Pflugerville - McNeil score?

Randall, thanks for the update. OneEagle, I think Tuesday's game will be a critical point for both RR and G'town. It should be a good one to watch! Maybe I'll see ya there and can put a face with a name!

GO ROCK!

Hey Chris,

All those CENTEX are weak!!! Smile okokok, just kidding -- it's a challenge to get you riled up anymore.

I could always visit the Houston site and bash the Woodlands a little -- just for fun. hehe.

Hey PD - Unfortunately, I agree with your assessment 100%. I think we have a bunch of young teams, in terms of playing time. As far as RR goes, we are not only trying to get these guys experience but also adjusting to a new coach. How is Plano East doin'? I know Rockwall is tough this year, but haven't seen much on PE.

RRF, Plano East is struggling and on the verge of elimination in 9-5A. Their pitching has been good enough on most occasions, but the defense has been inconsistent and the kids have missed opportunities to deliver big hits. The team has dealt with some adversity and they have played hard in the few games that I have seen. It's the ups and downs of the 2-year schools in Plano -- each year is a new challenge. Having more underclassmen in the program might help -- but only if they deserve to be there and have the opportunity to develop.

Our area has a number of exceptional sophomores as does CENTEX, I'm sure. Many of these kids can become strong leaders, if given the chance.

Good luck to the Dragons.
