Did they have the skills competition tonight? I just got back into town and didn't get to make it out. Which teams are looking stronger than the others?

Really can't tell anything in the skills competition because who care about winning it. certaining not going to put someone out there and potentially get an injury.

I've heard it all now.
A 16 year old withheld from a MMWS skills competition to protect from injury?
But we send them to thousands of skill evaluations for the "scouts".
To quote the great Alan Iverson........

Beast--I hear ya! We're heading to the beach tomorrow before school starts back up. I'll have some of those cute drinks with little umbrella's for ya!
Can't wait for school to start!!!

Sorry Beast but the Prospects look like the team to beat. IMO. I've never seen anyone put the whoopin' stick to a DBAT team like they did today. They had 8 hits in their first 9 batters. Including 3 doubles and a bomb. Not to mention throwing a 2 hit shutout. Midland looked good in their opener but not nearly as offensively impressive as the Prospects. Midland plays a speed, small-ball, patience at the plate style of ball with a couple of smashers thrown in. The prospects have 9 smashers.
Puerto Rico eliminated by California today. New Jersey eliminated by Indiana today.
Prospects have the bye
Elimination Round Patriots (0-1) vs DBAT (1-1) @ 4:00 Friday California (1-1) vs Indiana (1-1) @ 1:00 Friday
Has there ever been a 2-0 host? Probably wont be a 3-0 host. Not sure Frozen Ropes has enough to handle Midland. They used about 4 pitchers against the Patriots. Either way best of luck to all the hometown teams.
I also find it a bit ironic that all three teams to qualify for MMWS have indoor facilities???? Wierd, by design or coincidence????

Thanks for the updates. Get a little busy. But why wait for the updates on here? Come see us!!!
Actually got through early tonight and was able to go to Aparicio's in downtown McKinney........ AND get to sleep in until probably 8:00 a.m. WOOHOO!!!!!!!
The Prospects did look very strong against DBat and Midland is tough too, but don't count the host out just yet. There is a good bit of pitching left in the dugout. Play good defense and get some timely hits tonight and the boys from Midland will find themselves in a game.

I went to the Frozen Ropes-Patriots game last night and it was a good one. Pats jumped out 5-0 but FR clawed back and won the game 6-5 on a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 7th.
Great atmosphere and was a lot of fun....kudos to all of the volunteers working so hard to put it all together.
