Being from Houston area, I know those teams pretty good.

The top teams in Region 3 should be Katy, Langham Creek, Westside, Cy Fair, Memorial and Possibly Stratford.

Klein Collins and the Woodlands will be top teams from Houston in Region 2.

Who else in Region 2 will be tough and who are the top teams in 1 and 4?

Talking 5A.

In the San Antonio area, region 4 you have Reagan,
Smithson Valley and Macarthur. From Corpus you have King, Ray and Carroll all have great baseball programs. It will be interesting to see who will
represent this region in 2007.

SV and Reagan will both be strong this year. SV may not have a super star (e.g. Volz) this year, but they have a really solid and talented group of seniors and juniors. Will be some great baseball to watch when those two meet.

Could be wrong, but I don't think Mac will get it done.

Corpus will be a real dogfight again, even without Moody. ctiger's team should do well again. He sure drew a tough district...

Mcarthur has a pretty good #1 AND #2 in their pitching rotation. Depends on if they can get some run support. If their bats come around they will be tough.

Their No. 1 is really not much better as a senior than he was as a freshman. Kind of strange. From what I have heard, he had somewhat of a rough year last year. Is MG their No. 2?

With Rosfeld (sp?) and Morrow, SV will have two solid starters.

Garza probaly should be the #1 and true Daniels has not developed and become the dominant pitcher he should be, however he can still be tough.

Morrow and Wagliardo will be the pitchers for SV, Rosfeld will probably be limited to tournaments.
Juniors Woodchick, Jahns and Hamilton will also see some time on the mound.

District 15-5A,
1. Round Rock- Lost to Klein Collins in the Regional Quarter Finals in '06. Returning 7 starters, along with 6 that recieved all district honors. 14 Returning Seniors. Young talent including 6'6 Lefty pitcher Rick Hepworth (JR). Outstanding Seniors include Robbie Kilcrease (LP) (Texas Tech) finished last season with under 1.00 ERA, Lee Johnson (RP\1b)(University of Texas), Steven Peterson (LP 1b OF) (Dallas Baptist),Ryan Hutson (SS) (Sam Houston State), Matt Pruitt (OF), Jeremy Clouse (C, 3B).
I cant forget to mention the athlete in sophomore Josh Elander (C, OF).

2. Georgetown- Lost in the first or second round in '06. Much talent on this Squad including Texas commit Runey Davis.

3. Pflugerville- Very good talent, lost to Klein Collins in a one game shootout in '06.

4. Stony Point- I am not very familiar with the squad this year, lost to RR in '06 in a win it or go home District Finale.

I beleive these 4 teams will be the Playoff rep's in '07 for this very competitive district.

I didn't know Lee Johnson had signed with Texas. I don't recall seeing his name on the website for the early signing period.

I beleive he got an extremely small offer. It's a joke around the fieldhouse "Oh look at texas over there" because of how small his offer was.

I think we'll do very good. It's very competitive during the baseball period.. and we've got a lot of dedicated guys. Many of the Juniors are trying to win starting spots.. therefore they've basically been living in the cages. We've got some talent.. and I'm very excited to see what goes down this spring. We have 16 returning players. 14 Seniors. I have a feeling that it's going to be this year or two years from now that we go really far. Our '08 class is a bit weak, myself being in the '08 crew barely made the squad. I beleive around 6 '08s got cut before the christmas break. We have around 7-10 pitchers. All very good. Including a 6'6 lefty Junior. The coaches keep stressing to us that we have the spotlight shining on us and we need to run with the oppurtunity.

Also, seeing that the seniors this year, which were juniors last year, had 7 out of the 9 starters playing in the playoffs, went three rounds deep to lose to KC. I cant begin to imagine, IF we play to our potential, how far we will go..time will only tell. It's baseball, so anything can happen.
