Welcome to our new forum sponsor, Total Texas Baseball.

Lauren, one of the owners of this new magazine, was nice enough to send me a copy of the magazine, and I was impressed! I would just love to have a publication like that here in Minnesota, covering baseball from High School on up through college, minor league, and MLB. Lots of photos, great reports and feature stories - I would definitely subscribe if the same magazine was available here (maybe it would be called Mostly Minnesota Baseball?). Wink Big Grin

I really appreciate Lauren and Total Texas Baseball helping to support our site. I hope you will support them by checking out their site (just click the banner above).

Totally agree with you, Julie! T-Bird Dad and I haven't been disappointed in an issue yet! We look forward to its arrival each month. Thanks for HSBBW's support of the magazine, also.

Continued well wishes for Total Texas Baseball magazine!

How is Matt doing these days? Is the recovery still on track?

Texan ~ Tonight at LaGrave Field in Ft. Worth, Matt Smith took his first pitch and crushed it over the left field fence. Very impressive. He also singled later in the game. Last time I saw him play he had a courtesy runner. Not tonight. He ran his own bases. Looks like he's working hard at recovering!

Total Texas Baseball was there as well! Great to see them out scouting the games and promoting their informative publication!

Guess when you smack it out, that Babe Ruth trot is easier on the knee than legging out the double. Big Grin

Good to hear he is doing well. Thanks for the info, Collikar.

TTBM,
Thanks on behalf of the Texas Panhandle for coverage of players from our area having success at both the collegiate & professional levels.

A personal thanks for coverage of my son in your first publications. Special thanks for recent feature articles & photos of two of our areas' most successful.

Michael Crabtree: Canyon High, Frank Phillips Junior College-Weatherford Junior College & NAIA Houston Baptist U..
I had the pleasure of coaching Michael for a season in youth baseball at North Randall County Baseball Association (NRCBA). He was 10 years old, my son 9. He could hit the ball consistently then. He went on to be the toughest strikeout in high school baseball in our area. My son knows first hand since he had to face him for 2 years in the Canyon ISD. His success at the JUCO and now NAIA level doesn't suprise me. I believe Michael's success in life & baseball is built on his character as a person. If anyone's son ever needs a good role model, he should meet & get to know Michael Crabtree.

Chance Douglass: Canyon-Randall High, (passed on Rice U.), Astros (CC Hooks).
I had the pleasure of watching Chance & his brother Ethan grow up on the baseball diamond. I am proud to say I know Lisa (mom) and knew Mike (dad). Both worked hard for NRCBA, their son's high school & the boys. My son played with both Chance & Ethan in high school. My son has been influenced having witnessed how Chance & Ethan dealt with one of life's biggest challenges. Take nothing for granted. Chance has both a physical & mental gift for the mound. Ethan did to before an injury stopped his pitching. Chance has worked hard through hardships to reach such a high level. I don't believe he will be stopped until he reaches his goal. The Texas Panhandle & my entire family wish Chance the best! Lisa & Ethan also!

2/12 Ethan update. I read that Ethan pitched a scoreless inning to close a game for DII WT A&M University, Canyon TX this past week. Good to read that he is healthy.

Keep up the good work covering Texas Baseball.

Southpaw - Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping we can provide even more coverage in your region in the near future. There are some good ballplayers up in your area.

Just a quick clarification, we'll actually be mailing out the magazines this week and will be on the newsstands this coming weekend, Feb. 10. We're in most Barnes & Noble's and in all the Hastings Bookstores as well as a few baseball academies and sporting goods stores around the state. Of course, we'll gladly take subscriptions!

I'm excited about this next issue. Hope you will be, too. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Kurt
