My heart goes out to the victims and their families. A base should be a safe harbor for these brave young men and women. A place where they can train and relax before putting their lives on the line to protect liberty and freedom. I hope the slime that perpetrated this crime are brought to justice swiftly.

13 are dead and 28 wounded. Hasan yelled "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great)as he gunned down his victims. He was never deployed outside of the US. While studying mental health he took extensive weapons training courses. He was disgruntled after receiving a poor performance review. He didn't believe in the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He made interent posintgs that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.
I hope he recovers so that he can face the consequences of his actions. Congratulations to the civilian police officer that put 4 bullets in him to stop the rampage after he had been wounded himslef...a true hero.
This puts many things into perspective...not the least of which are that life is precious, don't waste a day, tell your family and your friends how much you care for them, and baseball is fun but it ain't life or death.
