I appreciate the vote of confidence PD. Smile

These kids don't have near the talent that DBAT puts out, but they do play extremely hard and I am very proud of them. We lost to a very strong Oklahoma Baseball team tonight. It was tied 1-1 in the 7th and we just couldn't finish.

The DBAT 16's are a very talented bunch as well. I loved playing them last night. Coach Lovelace and crew do a fine job of getting their guys ready to play.

Marshals 17U are playing this evening in the quarterfinals as well. Coach Hadeler is doing a fine job with his bunch! Lots of talent in DFW. I am proud to be in the middle of it all.

Good luck to Hadeler and bunch!!

Coach A -- I have a lot of respect for your team -- just responding to those that like to push buttons. Maybe the evil blue will have another crack at you soon. Until then....wishing you ongoing success. Cool

SWAC, Here are our other two box scores:

Frozen Ropes (Anderson): 4...8...0
FW Monarchs:..............1...8...2
(Randy Mann had a complete game shutout in sight with 2 outs in the 7th and gave up a homerun before finishing it)

Oklahoma Baseball: 9...13...1
Frozen Ropes (Anderson): 1...5....0
(Jamen Parten had allowed 1 run on 8 hits through 6 innings. I made a stupid error of sending him back out in the 7th. Leadoff double, and a great push bunt put guys in 1st & 3rd-no outs. I take full credit for the confusion that insued on the next pitch allowing a homerun to be hit. I took him out after that and we laid down and allowed 5 more runs to follow. Chalk that loss up to stupid coaching!!).

Great weekend by all of the DFW teams up in Stillwater. Rain washed out the majority of the tourney and DBAT 16 definitely deserved to be vying for the title. They have a great team and impressed a ton of folks being only 16 at that 18U tourney. Our other Frozen Ropes team coached by Russell Lewis did well also going 1-1 and being knocked out due to rain as well. Marshals Hadeler lost in the Semi-Finals to the same Oklahoma Baseball bunch and then the Sandlot Sox won it all in the finals. That was a VERY strong team. Solid all over the field!!

Coach A-

Good job this weekend! You guys certainly have a good bunch and do things right. Best of luck to you the rest of the way out!

PS: You should know by now that the players win games and coaches lose them. Cool

Is this the same tournament where some team thought that OSU meant Oregon State and NOT Oklahoma State?

That would be it Jewels.

Have to cut them a little slack though. I mean OSU, orange and black...there are similarities, except they were waaaaay off geographically! captain

Yes, but you have to admit, it is quite funny. Glad the teams we've been associated with have better communication than that...someone would be refunding me some gas money! duel

Coach A I have a tremendous amount of respect for you and Frozen Ropes. As your team continues to make a statement in the North Texas area I think that is very good for all programs. My post is for the parents that continue and take shots at an individual program. Its not needed and is totally unprofessional.

My previous post wasn't meant as a shot at any program. I don't even know which program made the location error. I was assuming it was somone from the Northwest since I can't imagine that anyone from this area would mistake OSU for Oregon State and not know that it was Oklahoma State.

Jewels...
You were right. It was a Seattle team that thought we were in Oregon. I don't think SWAC was talking about you.

SWAC...
I have spoken to my parents and made it clear that if they are going to post things about our team, it needs to be in a way that still supports how great the baseball is in the DFW area. They assured me that is was not meant to be aimed at any one organization. I assure you that none of my parents will demean any of the organizations we play against and will keep any posts directed towards the great job the players did.

Dillon...
Sorry that your guys didn't get to play more. It would have been fun with all the talent in the tournament to play a few more games. I can't believe how much talent you guys have. Keep them rolling. I see great things ahead with that bunch.

Chris

Jewels4Baseball my post had nothing to do with your comments. It was regarding a post by RPD.
