Linebaugh and B. Johnson both pitch 9 incredible innings.Mackie catches 9 innings,then comes into pitch. Out of gas. In the 7th inning tied 1-1, both teams had runners on second and third and no out and couldn't score. Mesquite takes a 2-1 lead in the 9th on a single by Feurbacher, only to make an error with 2 outs and the bases loaded in the bottomn of the inning.

Plano East loss to Allen 0-2 puts them at 9-11 overall and 3-5 in district play. Any chance for a playoff spot is quickly fading...The pitching is not bad but little run support all season vs. good teams...is it time to face reality and rotate in bench squad or stick with status quo?

I am sure that coach Collins kept the best 18 or whatever that tried out. He would not keep seniors at the expense of better playes. He is not that kind of coach.

I'm also betting that he has been playing the players he considers his best 9. After all, he's wearing the loss too. I would guess that he is constantly evaluating his players during games and practices and knows who is producing and who is not. And he'll make changes if he thinks someone on the bench has the potential to perform as well or better than someone on the field.
