I am watching a lot of high school basketball right now. I am wondering, what good / known baseball players are playing basketball in the DFW area? I spent time this weekend at the Carrollton Farmers Banch Tournament, next weekend it is the Flower Mound Tournament and then over Christmas it is the Whataburger Tourament. I jus tlike to keep an eye out for the baseball player / athlete. Please mention names and schools and year.

I don't think that he is in any of those tournaments but Sam Wernick. Jesuit College Prep. He's our starting center fielder, possibly.

I don't know many....

Nico Taylor, McKinney North '08
Hamilton Wise, St. Marks '08
Trey Frazier, Prestonwood Christian '08
Kevin Tietz, Plano West '07

The baseball/basketball combination is a difficult one.

Terrance Jackson- Newman Smith
Baseball America-rated 229 in top 300
LH pitcher-CF. Perfect Game National threw 93 from OF

On the hardwood he avg 21 a game.
Has offers from many top 20 programs in both sports.

He's one of my favorite athletes to watch.

I agree Clemente - TJackson is quite the natural athlete - it looks like it comes effertless with him. I saw him again at the PG in October playing for the Crosschecker team.

Coppell beat Plano West back on 11/21 and I got to see Tietz, Coppell plays Newman Smith twice in District and NS was at the tournament this weekend, I wish I would have known Terrance Jackson was a baseball player before, I would have watched a little closer. Those teams play all the time in Hoops Leagues, so I have watched him play basketball several times.

I'll keep an eye out for Hendrson at FM.

Lots of teams play in the Whataburger Tournament so I might be able to watch some of the others. And if not this year maybe over the next two years.

My boys is an 09 and plays for Coppell, he is getting some play time and has contributed. He will be in great shape for the baseball season. They have a good team so he might be a little late getting to baseball depending how far they get in the playoffs.

Tuesday will tell us a lot, Coppell plays Duncanville, Duncanville is #1 int he state.

Please add any others that come to mind.

Good article on DMN-Sportsday HS on Terrance Jackson being two-sports star.
