Train, Moody dropped down to 4A this season, which is why they arent in the 5A rankings. and yeah, they always seem to be good.

No doubt Jacob is a stud, is he their #2? Who else is on the pitching staff? Yes, there sophomore class is stout, Collin Ashley can flat go get it in centerfield and is a good leadoff batter, Chase Durham and the rest of the class is solid. Is Ty Wheeler from Flower Mound? Who in the soph class will play varsity and do any of them pitch?

Now Morris is 90+? -- give me a break people. The fastest kid in 5A baseball? -- oh come on! Bring him out to the Plano East track and we'll invite Chris Slater, Nick Miller, Brandon Loy, and several others....

For those of you that think a team full of sophomores should make a huge impact in 6-5a -- I'd tap the breaks a bit. FM will continue to rely on their upperclassmen, including their D1 signees. Concerning this kid....he is no doubt a very good athlete. Let's let him play varsity for a year before his retired number hangs from the FM hitting tunnel.

And mom and dad, if you read this site, you know I am not disrespecting your son -- it's not my style.

Well, Panther you have a very good point. But I've seen some sophomores make large impact's on District and Playoffs. For instance, freshman Josh Elander. (now sophmore) DH'd last year for RR and came through with very clutch hits when no one else was hitting. It seems as if the underclassmen are the ones that get the pitches no one else does.

That is no doubt true, RBI Baller --- we have a long list of FR and SO contributors in this area as well. I'm not discounting the notion, just suggesting that there is plenty of time for accolades a few months from now.

Coppell will not rely on it's sophomores. With Seniors like Cole Green, Jonathan Kaskow, Wade English, Chris Castillo,Cameron Watten, and David De La Chapelle I am sure they will have enough talent to complete.

The sophomores will help, Chad Kettler played the whole season and Johnny Walsh will be fine.

I think PD is right, let's wait and see what the young'ins bring before we hang any banners. But by the end of the season I sure a few sophs we have played a big role on what ever teams make it out of the Regionals.

Coppell only has one pitcher who throws 90+, Cole Green.

PD....I agree with you...no sophmores are going to make a huge difference on a varsity team. I seen most of those FM kids play last summer...though talented will not make a difference overall this year. I hope they all play

If you stop FM's three senior hitters you stop the whole team. But isn't that the same for most teams? Opps... I forgot about the FM sophmores that will jack the ball for them

Regarding our young pups throwing in the 90's....doubt it. In fact our old pup is not hitting 90 yet...but he will...soon.

There is no way JM is hitting 90plus now. Saw this great prospect over the summer and just not there consistently. If he is the fastest kid around I still dont worry cause you have to put the ball into play and I did not observe that over the summer with lower class pitching.

I forgot about Moody dropping down to 4A...thank God that will help us all. I'm surprised Southlake has not tried to drop down to 4A since they have not won a championship in baseball for some time. Larry always has that team ready to play!

I can tell you, a soph. at Jesuit will make a HUGE difference... but that's probably because last year our catching situation was so bad, anything is an improvement. Soph's might not be game changing players, but if they fill holes from the year before, they can help a lot... of course at these two schools... holes aren't a problem.

While I'm not Oldbat or Honest and Unbiased, I think when FM plays Coppell and Marcus, bottom line, you'll see good baseball. On any given day, a good team can win or lose as we have seen in past years. Even the great teams with the stud pitchers throwing 90+ can lose. I think Coppell has great players and I like Coach English. We have a lot of respect for them as we do for Marcus. If either Coppell or Marcus wins when we play them, congratulations. Does anyone really enjoy the games where it's 15-0? My son likes and respects the players and coaches and thats all that really matters. As far as sophomores, we have some great athletes and they'll help us over the next few years. Fortunately, I have two more to go through this so I'll be able to watch them all.

As far as Pitchers, we have many pitchers. Until the season starts, I don't think anyone knows who will be #1 and #2. I always heard CG or BB was moving here but I guess that was just a tease.

Train, your son is a great player and if you are anything like how you are on the HSBaseballweb, your house has to be one exciting place during baseball season. It's probably that way in the off season too! Good luck to you and yours and obviously the boys need to start soon since everyone is going stir crazy!

I am not familiar enough with SLC to know about Cunningham. I will say that I saw Chase Reid throw a perfect game at the Connie Mack Regional against a VERY good DBAT 17u team. He was completely dominant. As I recall nobody even got a good swing. I know that some would choose CG or BB, but I'll take me some CR any day.

Joe Leftridge is the fastest player in 5A baseball. End of discussion.

Zach Neal is FM's #1. I am guessing Bobby Doran is #2.

I saw them at the show in Waco. I know that CC Calallen was #1 and Moody #2. Was shocked to see Lamar Consolidated unranked. They are loaded with stud players this year. We have them at #2 in H5AB 4A poll. I will see if I can find the list..

RBI - we (Spring) plays Round Rock this year in the Westlake tournament.

You better believe that we will be watching when you guys play The Woodlands. Woodlands returns 6 starters from last years state championship team. Their ace, Jerad Stevens, started 5 games last year and 3 of them were 1 hit shutouts. 5 D1 signees. I hear RR has loads of talent this year too.

DFW people - I think you guys will hear a lot more about Klein Collins and Katy. To give you an idea of Klein Collins' pitching depth, their #4 got a scholarship to Blinn. That team is unbelievable...

This thread is a perfect example of why these lists were established.
