Looks like the THBCA list is Houston area heavy. Also, West Texas appears more than it usually does on these lists. Looks like you have three top 10's within ten miles of each other (Coppell, Southlake Carroll and Flower Mound).
In case of fire, let the women and children going out first.

What do the DFW old timers think about the order of the DFW area 5A teams.... 4. Flower Mound 9. Southlake Carroll 10. Coppell 17. Garland Namaan Forest 19. Rowlett 20. Allen Does a similar list exist for 4A? Houston area definitely has a strong representation.

Order may not be that far off for pre-season. Rowlett may be the only one that should be higher, maybe around 11. Thinking about a sleeper or two not on the list. Newman-Smith?

Nope -- no reason to suck up to you-know-who. I think Coppell's pitching at the top will be better than FM's....even if FM's arms are better top to bottom. Notice I said I thought they would finish ahead of them in 6-5A -- I never mentioned playoffs! PLAYOFFS??? Did you say PLAYOFFS??? I don't know Train's kid -- send me a private message and fill me in. Obviously FM has a lot of talent -- I just think Coppell's #1 is better than FM's #1 -- and there are very few #2's around town that will dominate each time out. Uncle Ethan -- how do you think Cunningham will fit in the Southlake rotation? -PD

Its not even a question comparing the two #1's from both schools. Who is FM's #2....we plan on playing a long time this school year! Do we really need a #2 when we are going to win every one game series we play??? MEAT would you not agree?? PD you should see my new coin! I still believe they are OVERRATED! Now that should wake up the FM faithful.

Train, It won't matter this year if we play a one game playoff or a three game series ...even if there is lightening 30 miles away either way Coppell wins. We will have better relief available or we will have options at #2 +. Our #2 starter might be a game pitched by committee, a little off speed for two innings, a little Sophomore heat for 2 or 3 innings and a senior closer. There are a lot of good arms to choose from, I thought Cam showed great velocity in the fall with good location. I hope he pitches some this year. I look forward to seeing Rowlett 2/13 in a scrimmage and Southlake is in the Baylor Tournament so we should have a chance to get some good tune-ups in before District. As for District, I think Marcus moved a head of FM and FM might have to worry about beating Hebron/Newman-Smith/Lewisville to get into the 4 team playoffs ( Any FM fans out there) Who is the FM #1, Zach Neal? Ok, but who is the #2? I am really asking, I am not trying to demean them, I just want to know. Actually this year in 6- 5A it will matter who your #2 is because a 7-7 ( win all your #1 games and lose the #2's) record might leave you on the outside looking in even with 4 playoff spots. That is true for most districts. As for the list, I am surprised not to see more Austin/ San Antonio schools on the list.

You guys are funny --- "who is FM's #2??? Our's is ????" "If Merck steps up" "If Emens steps up" "If Meinhard steps up" "If Cunningham steps up" ---- teams have "ifs" in January -- that's why the UIL allows a scrimmage season and up to 3 pre-season tournaments. But it's fun to speculate. Most of the DFW teams have the same questions -- including the others that were listed in the top 25 (Southlake, Rowlett, and Allen). I think there are many teams around that would enjoy the "luxury" of a proven #1. 7-7 will get some teams into the playoffs --- teams made the football tournament with losing records. Is it spring yet???

Smithson Valley should be right in there with SA Reagan. Although SV may not be quite as strong as last year (lost Volz, their big ace).

T-BIRD DAD - some of us still work for a living MEATSDAD.... I tried to tell DE that our starters need to play in the non conf games to get ready for the conf games....not sure he bought into it. We will be ready for the conf though. I agree with you that FM will be lucky to make the playoffs this year. How can they be a #4 ranking?? Really makes me wonder. I too was surprised not to see Moddy in the rankings. They are always good. I am sure FM's #2 is an underclassman. It really does not matter who #2 is when you have what we have this year! Wake up FM....where are you honest and unbiased?? Meat...maybe they are at band practice getting ready for our game again! That was some home field advantage for that game last year which we all under estimated.
