Planofan -- you're looking at stats again??? Tsk Tsk! If you know the program and the kids -- Arrieta is #1 and Wroblewski is #2. If Ridener was still in Texas, Lance would probably not be a weeknight starter (simple fact). That isn't meant as a shot at Lance -- he is a very good pitcher, a good kid, and a D1 signee (his mom is a little nuts hehe -- ok, I know you read this!). Even with Ridener, Lance would be a bigtime contributor on the hill for the Panthers. He has been effective this year and would probably be #2 at most of the 5A teams in the area -- #1 in some cases. It's not a bad thing -- or a knock on his ability -- to say that he's the #2 starter for the largest (or one of the top 3) schools in the state. Jake is a professional prospect. All this aside, Lance's numbers are excellent and I'd want him on my team any day of the week. JMO. -PD

P-daddy, quote: have not seen much "coaching" this season...many disgruntled players & parents.

This is ridiculous. Jake is a power pitcher. Lance is a finesse pitcher. Two different styles. Power pitchers usually get away with a mistake or two because of their velocity. Finesse pitchers usually have to be a little finer. It doesn't matter how fast you throw the ball if there is not movement on it. Jake is not just a thrower. He knows how to pitch, so does Lance.

Sizzle's assessment is accurate....but I have heard accounts that the strike zone was difficult for the pitchers -- for both teams. Jake has been a stud for Plano East this year. He had one off-game. He has power and not been "wild". As BigHit indicated, the two have different styles. Bottom line, as I mentioned earlier....Jake is a pro prospect. Both boys have D1 scholarships in hand. Pick your poison. Having said all this -- I'm sure both are disappointed in their seasons -- from a team perspective. Peace. -PD
