Scored as a base hit.

OBR makes that differentation for "interference with a fielder attempting to field a batted ball". But I believe that is for interfering with the fielder, not for being struck by the batted ball. FED doesn't address it at all. I'm pretty certain it is a base hit, with the SK's judgement not entering into the equation.

T-bird Dad, that is how I scored it, a hit, I felt that the runner would have beat the throw out IF the SS had gotten to the ball.
